Modern JURTENBAU - landmarks of a development

Yurts are up to now the overlooked of the construction industry and with it "thus" well for quite precipitous surprises what concerns expenses, production wise, out-fit and usability. It concerns, on this occasion, a round tent-construction method inhabitable all year round which is still widespread in the climatic extreme origin countries of Mongolia, the high Altai and the Caucasus.

Although they towards in Europe almost exclusively to the living use festival construction method and mostly rectangle construction method shows numerous advantages, up to now the propagation was kept her.

However, with the help of industry materials this barrier can be repaired efficiently, even if around the price of the renunciation of pure "clean" physical materials like with the original yurts. Until better here is found, our aspiration must limit itself, to attach un replaceable plastic skin at least in our moist climate so that she "it" does not come "get" with the interior-breath air to touch.

The main advantages of the Yurts-residential construction: mobility and flexibility, beauty, ease, extreme thrift material and expenses concerning, resources, an easy "simple" and quick […] without special professional skill, extreme storm and earthquake firmness and not least that she "it" causes no ground sealing. And, in the end, it remains to hope that this "Woh-tent construction method" to a strongly spanned and quite clearly of the economic exploitation serving building legislation unites for a long time due "payable" questions it is able to put "arrange"...

In winter, 2003 we published - the research council for nature-appropriate-round construction and life (in Graz) - in " apartment + health “ the first image "performance" of a yurt-building in the climate not suitable till then for it "in return" of Central Europe. Since that time has done itself a lot:

Tree scions, bamboo and finished parts...

Already in November, 2004 we held it for an important breakthrough when we began in the Allgaeu with the first yurt from halved tree scions (scissors grid like roof) and strictly dammed up them "her" with bark scrap metal. In spite of 7.4 ms of diameter we created with it "thus" a deep price-record of just 60/m ², because only the sheath came from polyplan and awning material from industrial manufacture (ordinarily one must count on 100 to 150/m ²). In the spring of the last year we went on working on it and repeated this construction method "style" in Graz and she "it" still waits - nowadays only textile as a summer yurts fitted out "couched" - for a reed cover.

As soon as the next we manufactured the whole "complete" skeleton from bamboo (also in this country growing bamboo is suitable in addition perfectly) and discovered "found out" his "its" almost "really" ideal talent for the yurts. Besides, in summer the whole "complete" Concepts on yurts on elements construction method was rearranged. As already intimated, the felt roofing and insulation is not suitable for our climate, there were other tent insulations, however, practically "virtually" only from plastic (e.g., aluminum-vaporized air bearing transparency). However, our destination is to fulfill construction-biological guidelines so far as possible.

For first in our research institute erected Residential yurt we used luxuriously quilted woolen fleece-insulating roads. This way is still interesting, however, has up to now still some shortages "defects". One is of it the modern steam diffusion concept badly applicable on "after" it. Nevertheless, with the help of the element construction method this problem can be solved, besides, she admits the whole "complete" insulating spectrum. Now, however, the unique and most excellent strength of the yurts lies in theirs "Tesegrity", however, much too easily something else "different" becomes from it: a steady bungalow...

Thus practically everything has changed last year up to the appearance and the scissors grid. The latter simply causes best of all the curvature with concurrent admission "intake" of the mole forces. But inside like outside everything still looks out really yurt like. The layman barely sees somewhat of these (absolutely serious) changes.
Basis of a logical "consistent" ecolegizing of the living

We had to think over the difficult teamwork of the components and materials "evidence" absolutely anew. With the success the same stands and the propagation of the yurts falls in Europe and all remaining more moist areas "fields" of the world. Mobile, extremely cost-efficient "competitive" and no longer nature-damaging residential construction (which does not injure "violate" the ground) thereby gets also here possible. An accordingly strictly further developable eco of the living permits itself a coexistence of person and nature of which the monocultures of the towns "cities" and yards can only dream today (see G.H. Mug: Ecological order of the ground "bottom", Munich in 1976). Only under such circumstances a back settlement on the land "country" can be represented "substituted" ecologically what should cause - properly "correctly" organized - at the same time the end of the physical estrangement of the person with.

Modern YURT'S CONSTRUCTION - landmarks of a development

Yurt's construction-seminar

Saturday 14 o'clock on the 27th May till Wednesday 31st May, 17 o'clock
Place: in / with my Yurt, Petersbergenstr. 17, 8042 Graz

From the angular to the round "round":
The Yurt as an energy, Residential, therapy, meditation, guest's space or communal space. The nicest kind "way" to live healthy extremely economically, close to nature!

Program: THREE construction methods "styles" are introduced and two of it in detail durchgeübt: the basic elements of a summer Yurt and the isolated "cloistered", still "nevertheless" fully mobile whole year-residential Yurt (in one to two meeting from and constructable). In addition the straw bale-Yurt is discussed. She "it" is mobile partly (one leaves the straw bales on site or picks up them "her"), for it "in return" again 1/3 more inexpensive "budget-priced" than the mobile residential Yurt.

Are practiced: floors, Tragkonstruktion (scissors grid, wall shares, roof shares, entrance area), isolation, weatherproof outside sleeve, light dome. Farther "further" subjects: clear heat insulation for window or even more light, porch, sanitary care "supply", connections, the construction-juridical possibilities as well as "Yurt's communities". Relating to heating a sensational bioheating or microbes heating is introduced without fire and chimney "fireplace" - with precise written bases "documents".

All construction methods can be carried out with medium amateur handicraftsman's abilities and with quite easy "simple", cheap machines or accessories. The building materials for seminar (wood, textiles "dry goods", roof tarpaulin ...) are organized by me. All necessary tools basically exist. All participants "competitors" get planning bases (also for the bio-heating).
Description: the Yurt - a construction model, as brilliantly as cheap

Yurts are winter-steady and weatherproof, perfectly circular, in one to two meeting constructable‚ mobile nomad's tents ’. Developed about millennium in the most extreme climate areas of Mongolia and the Altai. They are storm-steadier than many customary "traditional" residential constructions. They get over the strongest earthquakes, snow, ice, heat and even "still" storms to 300 km/h without damage to the environment! They cause no ground sealing.

And differently "else" than many modern constructions disfigure them "her" not the scenery, but are as suitable as wonderful. Their "her" coating can be adapted very adaptably and creatively to the needs "wants" of the inhabitants "residents" just as the scenery.
In the meantime, the traditional Yurt's construction method was so developed that it offers the residential quality necessary for our spoilt taste.

In the origin countries she "it" exists "consists" mainly only of two physical materials: very little wood (thin hardwood frames and easy "simple", e.g., hazelnut poles as a roof striving) and the coating from felt. The latter is replaced with us because of the high air humidity with watertight tarpaulins as well as with lighter "simpler" and better material.

Yurts are usable as a living room, studio, therapy or wellness area, garden small houses, holidays or mountain hut, disasters lodging and emergency lodging, research tent etc. you require neither an expensive "dear" purchase reason, because they can be moved in 1 to 2 meeting, nor a building "planning" permission (e.g., in Styria to 100 square meters, in Bavaria "Bavarian" and Swabia to 75 square meters!)

This brilliant "ingenious" construction method "style" which has originated in the course of 3 millennium in the scantiest and most austere climate areas is incredibly cheap even after adaptation to our residential comfort: with own contribution costs of the square meters - according to execution between 50.-to 150.-(compared with 1,500 with the normal construction, incl. craftsman's expenses). Another profit is the short construction time.

‚ Trial-and-error-way ’ would be here the component most expensive "dear" by far, so, a seminar visit brings there really "actually" what!
